Advice to Investors
The ASDF is a Religious Charitable Development Fund (RCDF) established to benefit the members of the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle.
As a RCDF we are offered some exemptions which enable us to carry on our business in the form of a central treasury operation without the regulatory burdens that are imposed on Deposit Taking Institutions in the commercial market.
The ASDF is not prudentially supervised by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA). Therefore, an investor in the ASDF will not receive the benefit of the financial claims scheme or the depositor protection provisions in the Banking Act 1959.
Investments in the ASDF are intended to be a means for investors to support the charitable purposes of the Fund.
By law the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) requires that all RCDFs, such as the ASDF, advise that investors may be unable to get some or all of their money back when the investor expects or at all, and the investment is not comparable to investments with banks, finance companies or fund managers.
